AT T GoPhone Prepaid Plans are Getting Another Data Increase Without a Price Hike

AT T GoPhone Prepaid Plans are Getting Another Data Increase Without a Price Hike

AT&T is about to increase the data buckets on its GoPhone plans later this week, according to sources of ours. This move comes on the heels of a data increase back in January, but also helps bring the plans in line with Verizon, who seems to be taking prepaid quite seriously these days.

Starting May 25, the $45 plan will jump from 2GB of data per month to 3GB per month, and the $60 plan will rise from 5GB per month to 6GB per month. No price increase will accompany these changes, plus the $5 autopay or “auto refill” credit will still be available on the $60 plan.

Talk about a solid value here from AT&T. Think about the fact that we first started talking about GoPhone back in 2013, just as it was getting access to LTE with only 1GB of high-speed data. Since that time, AT&T has lowered the price to $60, tossed in a $5 credit for autopay, and managed to raise the data limit all the way up to 6GB of high-speed data per month. Oh, and if you don’t use that 6GB, AT&T will roll that data over to the next month for use within the next billing cycle.

We’ve reached out to AT&T for confirmation and will update this post.

AT T Galaxy S6 is Getting Its Marshmallow Update

AT T Galaxy S6 is Getting Its Marshmallow Update

Galaxy S6 owners who are stuck with AT&T, your Marshmallow update is incoming. In fact, you may be able to pull it right now. A number of owners of the phone over at reddit have been downloading and updates their Galaxy S6s all morning, so you may want to take a look.

The update supposedly weighs in at about 1.5GB and software version “PD6.” I wish I could tell you more, but AT&T has all but abandoned their individual device support pages these days and has yet to update with Marshmallow info for the Galaxy S6. Feel free to keep checking here for the latest.

To check for the update, which should be Android 6.0.1, head into Settings>About device>Software update>Check for updates.

Anyone seeing it?

Verizon’s Galaxy S5 is Getting Marshmallow Today

Verizon’s Galaxy S5 is Getting Marshmallow Today

Late Friday afternoon, Verizon updated its Galaxy S5 software support page with today’s date, a sign that an update would be arriving. We figured it might be a major update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, since the T-Mobile variant had recently received a similar honor, but because they left out details on the page, we weren’t sure and held back on sharing the news. Then, this morning, they included update details, confirming our suspicions – this is Marshmallow.

According to Verizon, Galaxy S5 owners will see software version VRU2DPD1 and Android version MMB29M (Android 6.0.1). The update, with the jump to Marshmallow, includes Google Now on Tap, Doze, better application permission controls, WiFi Calling, a newish TouchWiz skins with new icons, and Ultra High Quality Audio.

To see all of the new details, hit up that source link below.

To grab the updated, head into Settings>About phone>Software updates>Check for new updates.

Verizon HTC 10 Getting Update Tomorrow With Camera Improvements

Verizon HTC 10 Getting Update Tomorrow With Camera Improvements

Own an HTC 10 from Verizon? Cool! You get an update tomorrow! And you get an update tomorrow! And you too, get an update tomorrow!

According to HTC’s Mo Versi, they “have the approval for the MR update that includes camera improvements and additional fixes.” That means they somehow already worked through Verizon’s 8-month (that might be an exaggeration) update testing approval process and are now ready to give you the goods. The goods being a better HTC 10 camera experience.

For what it’s worth, Verizon concurs – you should expect an update tomorrow. This page will be live at some point with additional details.
