DEAL Buy HTC 10 Receive Free RE Camera During Memorial Day Weekend

DEAL Buy HTC 10 Receive Free RE Camera During Memorial Day Weekend

A Memorial Day weekend sale from HTC can net you a free RE Camera with the purchase of a HTC 10. Currently, the HTC 10 is available via HTC’s website for a whopping $699, but with that purchase, you get a free RE Camera, which has a current sale price of $80. Regularly, the RE Camera is priced at $199. Do note that this deal is not limited to which HTC 10 you buy, whether it is the Unlocked, T-Mobile, Verizon, or Sprint model.

As previously mentioned, the RE Camera is on sale, usually $200, for just $80. If you want to skip the HTC 10 completely and get the RE, now would be a good time. If you happen to need a few accessories for your existing HTC products, the company is also offering 40% off select accessories, such as the Active Earphones, Type-C charging cables, Universal Car Kit, and much more.

Follow the link below to skim over what HTC is offering this weekend only.

Unlocked HTC 10 Now Working on Verizon But There are Prerequisites

Unlocked HTC 10 Now Working on Verizon But There are Prerequisites

We have attempted to throw an active Verizon SIM into the unlocked model of the HTC 10, but it doesn’t work. This really shouldn’t shock anyone, even though the device features the necessary radios to run on Big Red’s network. However, with S-OFF and root achieved for the HTC 10, the good folks at XDA have released a fix for this issue, meaning anyone with an unlocked HTC 10 can now get their device working on Verizon. After all, in our opinion, this is truly what unlocked should mean.

In order to begin this process, you will need S-OFF and root on your HTC 10. To do so, look over the instructions here. Before you get started, though, please note that attempting these types of actions can cause your device to behave unexpectedly. If you feel comfortable doing this, proceed. As a refresher, S-OFF equates to security off, which allows HTC device owners to modify any partition on the device, and changes will not be reset once a reboot takes place. When a device is S-ON, changes are not permanent. For a deeper understanding of S-ON and S-OFF, read this.

Now, it is stated in the instructions that you will need S-OFF and keep S-OFF during your usage of this radio. If that works for you, then really, all that is needed is a single flash of a radio.img via adb. The file is available on XDA from the via link below. For those of you with experience in adb and flashing files, this process will be extremely straightforward. Once the flash is completed, you will select the “CDMA/EvDOGSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto” option from within the secret radio menu. This menu is accessed by inputting *#*#4636#*#* into your dialer and dialing.

At this time, advanced calling features are not yet available, but according to the team behind this, they can later be added once available for the device.

If you happen to have an unlocked HTC, and want it to work on Verizon’s LTE, this is your chance.

Cheers Rashad!

Unlocked HTC 10 Receiving Update Brings More Camera Tweaks and System Improvements

Unlocked HTC 10 Receiving Update Brings More Camera Tweaks and System Improvements

An update for the unlocked HTC 10, labeled as 1.53.617.5, is rolling out to those in the US. While it doesn’t include Android N or anything fancy like that, it does include a few very important performance tweaks.

As listed in the changelog, users can expect an improved camera experience (seriously, the camera needs a big boost in speed), enhanced WiFi stability, as well as system stability improvements. Once updated, the overall phone should behave and perform better, which is always a good update in our book.

The update, which is available to pull right now in the US, weighs in at nearly 400MB. Get yourself on WiFi and grab it.

Buy a HTC 10 From T Mobile Starting May 18 Receive Free Rapid Charger and Ice View Case

Buy a HTC 10 From T Mobile Starting May 18 Receive Free Rapid Charger and Ice View Case

Between May 18 and May 24, customers who purchase a HTC 10 from T-Mobile will receive a free HTC Rapid Charger and Ice View case. That’s a total of $85 in free goodies.

According to T-Mobile, the Magenta-colored carrier is, “the only place to enjoy the HTC 10 with its powerful HTC BoomSound HiFi speakers and OIS on the front and rear cameras – the way they were meant to be used – unrestricted and untamed.” While this statement is completely false (you can enjoy those things no matter where you buy the HTC 10), the company cites its Music Freedom and Binge On services, which allows customers to stream music and video from select services without the used data counting towards your monthly allotment.

For pricing, you can purchase the HTC 10 for $0 down and $28.34 over 24 months ($680 FRP) on an interest-free financing option.

Again, this deal kicks off on May 18 (next Wednesday) and runs through May 24.

Verizon HTC 10 Getting Update Tomorrow With Camera Improvements

Verizon HTC 10 Getting Update Tomorrow With Camera Improvements

Own an HTC 10 from Verizon? Cool! You get an update tomorrow! And you get an update tomorrow! And you too, get an update tomorrow!

According to HTC’s Mo Versi, they “have the approval for the MR update that includes camera improvements and additional fixes.” That means they somehow already worked through Verizon’s 8-month (that might be an exaggeration) update testing approval process and are now ready to give you the goods. The goods being a better HTC 10 camera experience.

For what it’s worth, Verizon concurs – you should expect an update tomorrow. This page will be live at some point with additional details.

This is the OnePlus 3 a Mix of HTC One M9 and iPhone

This is the OnePlus 3 a Mix of HTC One M9 and iPhone

Thanks to Evan Blass, this is likely our first good look at the upcoming OnePlus 3 from OnePlus. As you will see, the phone appears to be the perfect blending of a One M9 from HTC and an iPhone from Apple. It’s not that this is a bad thing, or that we’re calling OnePlus out, it’s just happens to be the best way to describe what the phone looks like, in our opinion.

According to Evan, at least one of the specs we reported on yesterday in our rumor roundup is correct, which is the AMOLED display. The only other spec listed by Evan is a 3,000mAh battery, which does not align with the previously reported 3,500mAh battery size. Other specs we are expecting, thanks to previous leaks, are a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB and 6GB RAM models, 16MP rear-facing camera, and Android 6.0.1.

Looking over this render, I would say that the OnePlus 3 looks pretty good. On the lefthand side, we have the notification toggle, just as it is on the OnePlus 2. There is a front-facing fingerprint reader, volume rocker on the left side, power button on the right side, USB Type-C, single bottom-facing speaker, and 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the phone.

We still don’t have a date from OnePlus for when to expect a launch, but we’re getting close.

Thoughts on the render?

HTC Confirms Android N Update for One A9 M9 and 10

HTC Confirms Android N Update for One A9 M9 and 10

No shock here, HTC confirmed on Twitter today that Android N will be made available to owners of the One A9, One M9, and HTC 10.

According to HTC, delivery date of the Android N update will depend on when Google actually delivers Android N to manufacturers, and of course, carriers go through their testing/certification phase. Because of those reasons, HTC is not able to provide a timeframe for updates, but realistically, owners should hope to see it within three months of release from Google.

While this news is great for owners of the aforementioned devices, HTC also confirmed via Twitter that Android N will not available for the One M7 or One M8. That should not be too shocking to anyone, but if it is, that means it’s time for you to buy a new smartphone.
